Ingredients:
- 1kg pork shoulder
- 235ml apple juice (for oven roast only)
- Lo & Slo Pork Rub
- Lo & Slo Chilli Mop Sauce
Note: If you don't have a smoker, you can use an oven or a slow cooker to cook the pork to fork-tender perfection.
Instructions for Oven Roast:
- Preheat the oven to 140°C.
- Generously and evenly coat the pork shoulder with Lo & Slo Pork Rub. Place it on a wire rack in a roasting pan.
- Pour the apple juice around the pork and tightly seal the pan with foil.
- Place the pan in the oven and roast for 4-5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 90°C.
- Remove the meat from the pan and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- Shred the pork using meat claws or two forks. Place it in a pot and drench it with Lo & Slo Chilli Mop Sauce
- Gently heat the shredded pork and serve on baps (buns) with all the fixings!
Instructions for Slow Cooker:
- Season the pork shoulder as mentioned above.
- Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker on high heat and cook for 5-6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 90°C.
- Remove the meat from the slow cooker and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- Shred the pork using meat claws or two forks. Place it in a pot and drench it with Lo & Slo Chilli Mop Sauce.
- Gently heat the shredded pork and serve on baps (buns) with all the fixings!
